Per Google’s annual Ads Safety Report, the company removed a total of 8.3 billion ads last year — roughly one ad for every person on Earth. Both the public and governments have rising concerns over the high visibility of gambling ads, which grant access to illegal gambling operators; for this reason, Google is strengthening its policies on this issue. This year, Google Ireland announced that stricter enforcement of advertising policies will go into effect in March 2026.
